Mrs. Christine Scott

Scott ObitMrs. Christine Laura Bumford Scott, age 48 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at her home on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Mrs. Scott was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on April 8, 1968. She was the much-loved daughter of the late, Evelyn Potts Bumford and Clifton L. Bumford.

As a teenager she landed a job as a Lancome representative which financed all of her high school adventures. She then moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked at Our Eyes Optical Company where she became a district manager.

After marrying the love of her life, Jeremy Scott, she made the choice to become a stay at home wife and mother.

She loved doing all the extracurricular events with both her daughters, and especially enjoyed  spending time with them at home where she could feel the closeness that mothers and daughters develop.

Her mother was Hungarian and she enjoyed cooking all of the authentic dishes her mother had taught her. Her Chicken Paprikash was her family’s all-time favorite.

Christine was a very outgoing and friendly person. Her winning personality made her a shoe in for any type of sales.

When her children became a little older she became a popular Mary Kay representative, and loved doing demonstration and parties. Searching for treasures and selling them on e-bay was one of her favorite pastimes!

She was a Christian by faith who loved attending church with her family. Her loving spirit, vivacious personality, and giving heart will long be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Allen Scott; daughter, Piper Scott; and mother-in-law, Jeanette Scott, all of Franklin, GA.; brother Cliff Bumford of Pittsburg, Pa.; and one very special uncle and aunt, Pete and Ronnie Toth of N.J.; and a host of adoring friends.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lilly Scott.

Memorial services for Mrs. Scott will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2016, 4:00 p.m. from the Glenloch Baptist Church with Reverend Neil Awbrey officiating. The family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to the service time.

Christine was always fun to be around. I first met Christine during a gifted field trip to Gatlinburg TN. Both of our children Bradley Barber and Lilly Scott we’re in gifted. My husband Shane and I always told her that she would be a great middle school teacher because of her great personality and the encouragement she gave to so many young people. She and her family will always hold a special place in my heart. You will be greatly missed Christine. R.I.P🙏

  3. so very sorry for the family, sending prayers

Christine was always looking to see who she could bless and uplift. I substituted with her in the elementary schools where she loved those kids! And they loved her. She was easy to talk to and always made you feel like what you had to say was important. Even at Lilly’s funeral, she was so concerned about how Lilly’s friends were holding up and telling them how special they were to Lilly. She loved Chris Tomlin’s music which says a lot about her love for her God. He has wiped away every tear from her eye-forever. Prayers will continue for her family.

Christine was a very outgoing and loveable person. I substituted with her in elementary school where she loved each child she met. And they loved her!! She was always concerned about others and, even at Lilly’s funeral, she was concerned for Lilly’s friends. She took time to tell each one how special they were to Lilly. She also loved Chris Tomlin’s music:) So listen to a song by him today and say a prayer for her precious family.

My Prayers go out to you, Jeremy and Piper. I am so sorry. I do not even know what to say to help comfort you both at this time. Please just know you both will be in our thoughts and prayers. You have been through so much the past year and I just pray that God will comfort you both during this terrible time. We ask why God, Why? But, only God does know why, when and where. I know she was in a lot of pain and God needed her to come home and she is in such a better place than we could ever imagine. I don’t know why life has to be like this. Christine and I had known each other through meeting when Lilly and my son was in Middle School together. She was always so nice to me every time we saw and talked to each other and believe me she will be greatly missed by so many people that she came in contact with. She is now at home with our Lord Jesus Christ and her daughter Lilly and some day you both will see them again. I just want you to know how sorry we are for you and Piper. Please let us know if you need us for anything. You can email us or call us. Our number is listed, so feel free to reach out. Even if it’s just to talk. We are here for you and your beautiful daughter, Piper. May God be with you both and holding you both so tightly. Just look to him always, because he promises that he will never ever leave us or forsake us as long as we do not turn away from him. May Christine Rest in Peace now. God Bless you, Jeremy and Piper. Take all the time you need to Mourn and don’t give up Jeremy. Because you still have sweet Piper to raise and she will need you now more than ever. And the same goes for you. You will need her as much as she will need you. You both will be in our prayers for now on.May God Bless you both and help you through this awful time. Please let us know if you need us. Our Prayers and Love to you Jeremy and Piper.

Love, From: Roberta, Jeff and Bobby Gilbert
