Mrs. Emma Jean Washington


Mrs. Emma Jean Washington, 78, of Franklin and formerly of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Tanner Medical Center.

Born December 20, 1937 in Tallapoosa, Alabama, Mrs. Washington was the daughter of the late Robert and Irene Nichols Hall.

She loved her family, was Baptist by faith, and retired from William L. Bonnell Company after 40 years of service.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Jean Spratlin of Franklin; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Washington; a son, Donney Washington; daughter, Lori Washington; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Washington.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 5, 2016 in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

The Reverend T. J. Boyd officiated and interment followed in the Luthersville Cemetery.

Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of the arrangements.
