Mrs. Holloway was born March 12, 1942 in Heard County to the late Grady Arrington and Eva Harris Arrington.

She served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all of her life. She was a founding member of New Hope Baptist Church and was involved with cleaning and maintaining the church. She loved the Lord and was known to raise her hands in praise during the service.

She knew her Lord by reading His Word. It was her fervent belief that He never makes a mistake. She prayed for others when they were sick or troubled.

Pleasing the Lord and doing the right thing at all times were very important to her. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

She loved Gospel music. Some of her favorite trips were to the mountains with her husband, daughter, and sisters-in-law to church singings.

She loved to cook food for friends and family for special occasions, and she was always getting requests for her made from scratch cakes, especially her famous coconut cake. She was so meticulous in her preparation she would take a trip to Florida to get the best coconut to make her cake the best it could be.

She dearly loved her late husband, Burl, to whom she was married 52 wonderful years. They took care of each other through good times and bad; in sickness and in health.

Among her favorite daily outings was going with Burl to Hardees to have breakfast with the “Hardees Gang” and catch up on the local news.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Timmy Hamil of Franklin; step-grandchildren, Amy Holliday and TJ Hamil; step-great-grandchildren: Landon Holliday, Hayden Holliday, Jaxon Hamil, and Jaren Hamil; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Eva Harris Arrington; her husband, Burl Holloway; and a number of brothers and sisters.
