Mrs. Adams was born June 13, 1945 in Heard County to the late Herman Lee Chatman and Winnie Mae Laster Chatman. She was a member of New Springs Methodist Church.

For many years she greeted students at Centralhatchee Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria. She served countless meals to children and always had a smiling face and a kind word to encourage them.

At home she loved to serve home cooked meals for her family. There were always delicious meats, vegetables, and breads spread on the table for lunch and supper. She also delivered food to those who were in need or had a death in the family.

She was an outgoing lady who loved to shake a leg every once in a while – especially at the annual Fourth of July Dance on the square.

She had a persevering spirit that served her well throughout her illnesses. She fought cancer and strokes tooth and nail and never let her health keep her down.

She dearly loved all of her family; from her late husband, Donald, to her children and grandchildren, to all of her extended family of nieces and nephews.

Survivors include one daughter, Katrina Knowles (Scott) of Franklin; one son, Jamey Adams (Felicia) of Newnan; six grandchildren, Keaton Knowles, Chadwin Adams, Madison Adams, Dalton Bunn, Jordan Bunn, and Carson Bunn; one sister, Lillian Chatman of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Adams; one son, Donnie Wayne Adams; two sisters: Lorene Shelnutt and Lela Mae Hardy; and seven brothers: Raymond, G.W., Render, Paul, James Kenneth, Henry, and Darden Chatman.
