Mrs. Louise Nelms Daniel

Mrs. Mary Louise Nelms Daniel, age 85 of Newnan, Georgia, formerly of Franklin, Georgia passed away on August 15, 2011 at her granddaughter, Mary Beth Ellison’s home in Norcross, Georgia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel will be conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Franklin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Parrish, Dr. Jim Ellison, and Rev. Brett Matthews officiating.

The committal service will be conducted prior to the funeral at 1:15 P.M. in the Franklin City Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin, Georgia Tuesday evening, August 16, 2011 from 5-8 P.M.

Mrs. Daniel was born in Heard County, Georgia on December 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Robert Lee (Bob) Daniel and Willie Lee Lipham Daniel. She was a member of the Newnan First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Vetch Nixon Sunday School Class and Circle Two United Methodist Women.

In her young years she and her husband Dent Daniel were active in the Franklin United Methodist Church, where they raised their children in the word of the Lord. She always displayed a cheerful spirit, and a tremendous work ethic. The wonderful job she did raising her children is a testament to her lifelong goals. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Wayne) Miller of Franklin, GA., Brenda (Darrell) Crumley of Franklin, GA., and Joy (Fred) Staeck of Bothell, WA.; one son Billy Daniel of LaGrange, GA.; one son-in-law Rev. Gary Parrish of Newnan, GA.; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dent Daniel; daughter, Mary Ann Parrish; parents, Robert and Willie Nelms; and brothers, Harold, Dovard, and Jett Nelms.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Association.
