Mrs. Mamie Paschal

Mrs. Mamie Jeannette Shelnutt Paschal, age 79, of Centralhatchee passed away December 16, 2021.

Her funeral will be held Saturday December 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Revs. Mark Williams and Mike Reeves officiating.

Interment will follow in Centralhatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Paschal was born February 10, 1942 in Heard County to the late William Cephus Shelnutt and Etta Sophronie Williamson Shelnutt. She was a member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church.

She worked as a supervisor for Private Line Clothing Manufacturing until that company closed.

She then transitioned to a new career serving in the lunchroom for the Heard County School System. She was known as a hard worker who always wanted to see the job finished.

A jokester at heart, she loved to play pranks on friends and family. She would tell stories and carry on about crazy things that would leave everyone in stitches. She endeared herself to everyone she met.

She was well known for being a good cook. Among her specialties were German chocolate cake and coconut cake. She could also cook a full spread of soul food and loved to have the family at home for a homemade meal.

Her most precious moments were spent with her family, and she held a special place in her heart for her two grandchildren. She was adored by everyone and was lovingly referred to as “Granny”.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Terry Lane of Centralhatchee; grandson, Fletcher Lane; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Melissia and Zack Wilson of Centralhatchee; two sisters, Ezell Smith of Newnan and Martha Ann Hale of Franklin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Starling Paschal; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jeff Dollar; one sister, Lorene Brewer Cates; and four brothers: Odell Shelnutt, George Shelnutt, Eugene Shelnutt, and Tom Shelnutt.
