Mrs. Jackson was born May 11, 1931 in Heard County to the late Willie Lou Minick and Bessie Miller Minick. She was a member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church, and also attended Franklin First Baptist Church.

She worked for about 17 years for Playtex in Newnan, then went to work as a dispatcher for the Heard County Sheriff’s Office. She lived at the dispatch center during the week and prepared meals for the inmates in the county jail.

She dearly adored her family. Her favorite time of the year was the holidays when everyone would gather for food and fellowship. She loved to cook for everyone and have a house full of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a video camera in her hand ready to record family gatherings and special times together.

She enjoyed reading and listening to music, and had a large collection of books, cookbooks, records, cassettes and CD’s.

Survivors include one daughter, June Jackson (Chris) of Franklin; two sons, Carlton Jackson (Judy) of Bowdon and Andy Jackson (Debbie) of Franklin; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Holcomb of Franklin; one brother, Danny Minick (Judy) of Texas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Andrew Jackson, Jr. and a sister, Sara Nell Toney.
