Mrs. Tammy Elaine (Orr) Mathews

Mrs. Tammy Mathews, 57, of Franklin, Georgia passed away, March 13, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on February 29, 1964, in Franklin, a daughter of the late Marvin and Dorothy (Wilson) Orr.

She was married to Rev. Brett Mathews on October 6, 1980. Rev. Mathews survives in Franklin.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mathews is survived by two sons (and daughters-in-law); Chad Mathews (Amy), of Bremen; and Trevor Mathews (Nikki), of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Grayson Mathews, Hudson Mathews, Aubrie Mathews, and Ellie Mathews.

Though suffering with many debilitating illnesses throughout her life, Mrs. Mathews’ faith in God never wavered. She loved to work, and performed many jobs that in her time were completed mainly by men.

When she became too sick to work, she focused on her home and always had a clean house and delicious meals on the table.

Most of all, however, she will be remembered for her love and devotion to family. The love that she and her husband had for over 40 years is a testament to faith and love. He sure loved his “Green Eyes and Sunshine,” and she went to heaven calling for her “Brett.”

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Brett Mathews officiating.

A private Interment service for the immediate family will follow at Heard County Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept guests from 10:30 AM until the funeral hour.
