Mrs. Virginia Gladney

Mrs. Virginia Holloway Gladney, age 78, of Centralhatchee passed away July 31, 2020.

Her funeral service will be held Monday August 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Stutts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bryan and Mr. Joe Jones officiating and remarks from Mrs. Cutine Barber.

Interment will follow at Heard County Memorial Gardens.

Those serving as pall bearers will be Josh Gladney, Cody Gladney, Jace Mock, Alek Mock, Curtis Mock, Robert Holloway, Ken Hardy, and Carl Hardy.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Monday afternoon from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Gladney was born April 13, 1942 in Heard County to the late James Robert Holloway and Leola Wright Holloway.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved to attend church and sing hymns. She also enjoyed going to Gospel singings.

She was retired from Fashion Star where she served as a supervisor for many years.

She was always dedicated to her family. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Gladney, for 61 years. It gave her great joy to see after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who enjoyed getting together for family reunions.

At home, she liked to watch cooking shows on TV. She always served delicious meals at home for everyone. Some of the family’s favorites were her biscuits and red-eye gravy for breakfast, dressing and all the fixings for lunch, and banana pudding for dessert.

Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Gladney of Centralhatchee; one daughter, Angie Mock (Johnny) of Franklin; one son, Scott Gladney (Cindy) of Centralhatchee; three grandchildren, Josh Gladney, Cody Gladney, and Jace Mock (Caitlin); two great-granddaughters, Madison Gladney and Alyssa Daniel; four sisters, Ann Furgerson, Myrt Alsabrooks, Jimmie Rowe, and Thelma Hardy; two brothers, Robert Holloway and Roy Holloway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Burl Holloway and Tommy Holloway.
