Ms. Beverly Helene Cook

Ms. Beverly Helene Cook was born January 18, 1968 to the late, Christine Cook and Bennie Frank Burden.

She was educated in Heard County; and graduated from Heard County High School, Class of 1987.

Beverly also had a passion for dancing and music. She loved her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Known affectionately by her teammates as “Goo-Goo,” Helene was one of the top basketball players in Heard County high school history leading her team to the Georgia State Championship Semifinals at Georgia Tech during her senior season.

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, our beloved departed this life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts, Christola Cook and Mozell Person.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Chris Cook, Kadesha Cook, Tyesha Cook; grandchildren, Ja’Cory Gray, Ariana Cannon, Mariah Cannon, Gabe Zell, and Catalina Cook; brothers, Rodney Cook and DeWayne Cook; sisters, Pamela Cook, Teresa (Victor) Glen; aunts, Catherine Feabry and Martha Cook; uncle, Eddie Person; special friends, Cat Brown, Otis Cheeks, Polly Culpepper, and Mrs. Deborah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, February 11, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Rev. Grady Woodruff will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home of Lagrange is in charge of the arrangements.
