National Thank a Police Officer Day

National Thank A Police Officer Day(Franklin) — Heard Elementary 4th graders presented banners and goodie bags to five different law enforcement agencies on the eve of ‘National Thank a Police Officer Day.’

They invited the Franklin Police Department, the Heard County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance and State Patrol as well as the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department.

Students used their math skills to determine the amount of each type of candy to put in each bag based on the amount of candy available and the number of goodie bags needed.
