Registration Deadline for Special Election Runoff Extended

(Franklin, GA) — Due to an opinion from the state Attorney General, the registration deadline for all local runoff elections has been extended to coincide with the registration deadline for Federal Runoff Elections.

If you live in District 2, you may register to vote in the Special Election Runoff for District 2 Commissioner through July 13, 2020.

This is also the deadline for address changes if you have recently moved to District 2.

If you need to check your registration status, you can go to the Secretary of State’s “My Voter Page” at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do.

If you need to register or change your address, you may click the “register” button on the My Voter Page page or click the following link: https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/welcome.do#no-back-button.

The Elections and Registration Office is also open for registration. You may call the office at 706-675-3907 if you have any questions or would like to request an absentee ballot.

Please note: as of Tuesday July 7, the state has not yet mailed absentee ballots to those who requested one for the June Primary and qualified to receive one for the entire year due to age or disability. Those should be mailed soon.

Early Voting will be held as follows in the Elections Office in the bottom floor of the Courthouse:

July 20 – 24                8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

July 27 – 31                8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

August 3 – 7               8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Election Day is August 11, 2020. The poll at Centralhatchee will be open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
