Solicitor-General Baker elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

(Amelia Island, FL) — Troup County Solicitor-General Nina Markette Baker of LaGrange was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia and was installed June 9 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Baker will serve in the Coweta Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Troup counties.

She earned her law degree from the Mississippi College Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1999.

She has served as the prosecutor for misdemeanor cases in Troup County State Court since 2004 and was recognized as Solicitor-General of the Year in 2017 by the Georgia Association of Solicitors-General.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits.

The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
