Student attends FBLA Officer Training

(Fort Valley, GA) — Caitlin Shelnutt attended the FBLA Region Officer Training in Fort Valley at Camp John Hope on July 15-16.

Caitlin submitted an application in the spring to become a Georgia FBLA Region officer and was accepted.

Her training at camp prepares her for leadership roles at the 2016-17 FBLA state conferences and in our local FBLA chapter.

Caitlin’s training consisted of practicing for the Region Leadership Conference awards ceremony and learning her responsibilities as a Region 7 officer.

She also received training on improving her leadership skills which included making impromptu speeches and how to create an FBLA workshop for Fall and State leadership conferences.

She was also engaged in teamwork activities such as glow in the dark kickball and navigating a ropes course.

Caitlin’s duties as an FBLA Region 7 officer will begin on July 21 at the Summer Leadership and Officer Training Summit.
