Update on South River Road Repairs

(Franklin, GA) — The City of Franklin was informed earlier this week that the planned closure of South River Road, scheduled to begin on Monday, May 6th has been canceled.

During the first phase of the project, a large amount of rock was encountered, and construction has been halted while the contractor works to modify the sewer line replacement plan.

The road was anticipated to be closed from May 6 through the end of the project.

When work does continue the closing of the road will involve the 600 block of South River Road (west of the Heard County Water Authority Sewage Treatment Plant) to 800 block of South River Road (east of Sioux River Drive).

Once the road is closed for final repairs, if your physical address is between 25 to 607 South River Road you may continue to use the Franklin Parkway entrance. If your physical address is between 797 to the end of South River Road you may use the Doc Fisher Road entrance.
