(Franklin, GA) — The youth football season got underway Saturday at the Heard County Parks and Recreation Department.

All three Heard County teams were in action and each pulled off a big opening day wins.

The 10U Braves took down Mt. Zion by a final score of 26-6 to begin their season with a 1-0 record.

Leading the way for the Braves on offense were quarterback Major Lasseter and running back Amari Heath.

Heath had a monster performance in the win scoring all four touchdowns for the Braves.

Heath ran scores in from 80 and 25 yards and also had a ‘Pick 6’ on defense for 60 yards to put the game away for good in the 4th quarter.

Layne Toney and Caleb Janney had a couple of big stops for the Brave defense in the first half before the 10U Braves pulled away late.
